Kris Fife,  passed away August 10, 2005 after a courageous battle with colon and ovarian cancer. Many of you will remember Kris as the caring voice on the phone and the smiling face that greeted you when entering our hospital.  Kris was the first person we hired after taking over ownership of Allenstown Animal Hospital in 1994. Her intelligence, compassion for all animals and remarkable personality are what won her the job.   Though she had no formal medical training when she started, Kris quickly excelled as both a technician and a receptionist.  It was as a receptionist that she found her calling, combining the medical knowlege she had acquired with her overwhelming compassion for both pet and owner.  The remarkable thing about Kris was that her life was about giving.  She was always busy trying to find a home for a stray dog or cat someone had found, or fostering a baby squirrel that needed help, or offering a symapthtic ear and words of comfort  to someone whose pet needed medical care. Kris will be forever missed by the many friends that she made here.
